No Trips This Christmas
We had booked to spend Christmas and New Year with the family in Queensland but when new Covid restrictions put a stop on that idea once again, we thought perhaps another little road trip would be in order. Unfortunately, the weather put paid to that idea as well. So, it was a week at Wayne’s Bar by the pool, can’t really complain.
Time to have a little look back at 2021.

I am now allowed to drive through puddles.
It is now official, the next time we come up to a puddle, Debbie has no reason to stop me driving through it. Furthermore, if I need to bump up a kerb, I am to be allowed to do it!

Some improvements to the Patrol
In preparation for our next trip into the Goldfields the Patrol has been equipped with a set of Titan Draws and a Redarc BCDC dual battery system.

New kitchen draws for Debbie.
In an attempt to keep the fridge working! Designed, built and tested in Australia for our unique conditions, the BCDC in-vehicle DC to DC charger won’t let you down.
I have also been playing around with hoses, taps and all sorts of garden retic gadgets to provide the camp with gravity fed running water. Youtube has some good and some not so go ideas. It will be interesting so see how it works in the field.

Stirling Ranges Feb 21
Debbie has spent too long couped up in doors recuperating, it was time to hit the open road again. Labour Day long weekend was the perfect opportunity and this time we headed south. We had recently watched the movie Rams which, having lived in rural Devon in the UK for the tail end and the aftermath of Foot And Mouth, was very poignant. Quite by chance, not design we spent the weekend in and around Mount Barker where the film was shot.
Proof that the sun does not always shine, a rare cloudy day in WA.

We took the 4×4 for a road trip over Christmas.
A little round trip of approx. 2500 klms. in just over a week. The Patrol proved to be a comfortable ride but a bit more thirsty on the fuel than we had been used to. The Shothole Canyon confirmed its 4×4 credentials and even when I deliberately got bogged in soft sand managed to free itself with ease.
